Vintage Ludwig-WFL-Field Snare Drum-Marching Snare Drum

Shell:

This Ludwig shell is painted original white on the inside and has 1" re-rings.  The shell seems to be in round.  The snare side re-ring is tight to the shell with no separation.  The batter side re-ring is solid, but has some separation in two small spots.  This can easily be fixed with wood glue and clamps.  There is no major damage to shell - no cracks or dents.  There are 4-5 (small) extra holes drilled in the shell (see pictures).  The bearing edges and snare beds are in good condition considering the age of the drum.  Overall, I believe this shell is in fair to good condition...and needs some minor restoration / repair.

Shell Finish:

The silver sparkle wrap is in fair to good condition with no chips or major damage.  There are a few minor scratches on the wrap, but nothing major.  It is dirty and slightly faded.  The wrap is tight to the shell and the overlap seam is not lifting.

Hardware:

All of the hardware with this drum is nickel plated.  All of the hardware and parts are original.  This drum includes two nickel over brass triple flange rims - snare side and batter side.  They are both 8 hole and in good condition.  There are no major dents or chips in the rims.  There are some scratches in the nickel and they both need to be polished / cleaned.  This drum includes 8 double ended Ludwig lug casings.  The lug casings include their original threaded insert nuts, springs, and mounting screws.  The nickel plating on the lugs is in fair to good condition (similar to the rims)...with no major damage or chips.  They have some scratches and need to be cleaned / polished.  This drum also includes a WFL snare strainer and butt.  Both are in fair to good condition with no damage.  However, the strainer is missing the threaded handle to release and tighten the snare wires.  Other than that, the strainer works and is still adjustable via the knob.  Overall, considering the age of this drum, the hardware is in good condition.

Shipping & Payments:

I ship only within the continental United States.  However, I will ship to Hawaii and Alaska for an extra shipping fee.  U.S. bidders / buyers only.

I ship FedEx Ground and Home Delivery only.  No Express shipments.

Winning bidder pays all shipping costs.  I do not charge a huge up-charge for “shipping and handling”.  I only charge for shipping and boxes.  The UPS shipping estimates that eBay provides are very similar to my FedEx rates.  Use the UPS shipping estimates as a guide only.

I accept PayPal payments only. 

I only ship items once payment is made by the winning bidder.

Feel free to pay for the auction you have won immediately.  HOWEVER, I will send an eBay invoice within an hour of the auction ending.  The invoice will include a more accurate shipping total (via FedEx) than the one given by eBay.

I usually ship items within 2-3 business days after the auction is complete.  If there is a delay in shipping, I will contact the winning bidder ASAP with details.  I do not ship on the weekends.

I ship to the winning bidder’s address provided to me by eBay / PayPal.  Please notify me ASAP after the auction is complete (and PayPal payment made) if an alternative address is to be used for shipping.

If the same bidder wins more than one of my auctions that end at the same time (or near the same time), I will gladly consolidate the items and combine shipping costs.

If you would like to request a “signature required” service for the item(s) that is being shipped, please notify me.  This is not a regular service of FedEx and it will be an extra charge.  If you would like more information regarding this service, please contact me.

All winning bidders will receive a FedEx email prior to shipping that will detail the item(s) being shipped, eBay auction number, estimated delivery time, and FedEx tracking number.  You can go to FedEx.com/tracking for details.
