In this book Hoffman immersed himself into the late-'60s Haight-Ashbury underground Hippie & Drug scene to explore the lives and beliefs of this new American youth movement.

This is the QUADRANGLE BOOKS hardcover FIRST EDITION as published in 1968. This copy is in overall FINE CONDITION: there is light-to-moderate shelfwear/rubbing to the dustjacket (which is still fairly glossy for its age) with only tiny tears around the edges of the spine. The book itself is VERY FINE, with little visible wear and mild aging. Very light/minor bumping to corners- overall, an exceptionally clean & tight copy! All pages are clean, tight-to-spine, and unmarked except for the inside cover where a "$2.00" price is written in pencil. This book is OUT-OF-PRINT for quite some time now and is very RARE, and this copy is in superior condition to any other copy I've been able to find on-line, so please bid accordingly!
