divided into two parts. Part one, titled "West Of Waikiki," is a 30-minute narrated film
produced in 1946 and documents Marine Corps assignments in post World War II Hawaii,
Guam and China. Part Two documents the activities of elements of the 6th Marine
Division in China during September and October 1945. Please note: Part II is not
narrated. There are captions and a music sountrack.

"West Of Waikiki" Produced by the Marine Corps as a post-war recruiting film, this film documents the "good life" for Leathernecks stationed at three far-flung outposts. Scenes from Marines in China in the late 1940s include: the printing of the North China Marine newspaper, Marines at their compound in Tientsin, the Red Cross Club, at the enlisted men's club in Peiping and much more. Scenes of Marines on Guam include: the Fifth Service Depot, WXLI Armed Forces Radio Station and Marine MPs on patrol and working with the natives. Scenes of Marines on Hawaii include: FMF Pacific Headquarters, the Pacific Division Rifle And Pistol Match, military housing and the Navy school, Marine Air Group 15, MPs on the job and the enlisted men's club. China Marines Includes the amphibious landing at Chinwangtao, Marines marching through the streets of Tsingtao, the formal surrender of the Japanese under the command of MajGen. Eiji Nagano to U.S. and Chinese forces under the command of Gen. Lemuel Shepherd at the Tsingtao racetrack. Also includes scenes of Marines participating in various military parades, formations and civilian activities.
