La Catrina Day of the Dead Glitter Lady Figurine~WOW

Up for auction is a beautiful an unusual Mexico Day of the Dead Lady Catrina. A friend of mine brought this back for me when he went to Mexico a couple of years ago. But time to clean out. This beauty is made of clay (more like pottery) and  dressed in an red evening gown and hat covered in glitter. She is holding a white purse in her hand and a green feather is attached to her hat. The detailing is amazing! Measures 6" tall. There is a stamp on the inside "Mexico" Figurine is in "excellent condtion" with no chip, cracks, wear, glazing. Alot of Countries from Mexico, Latin & South America use these statues as rememberance for their loved ones that have passed on.

Day of the Dead, or de los Muertos, is an annual celebration in Mexico and other Latin & South American countries honoring loved ones who’ve passed away. Visual art is a major part of the celebration~ with the major themes of life and resurrection in Jesus Christ opposing Physical death. It is hoped that those who have passed without fait in Christ will visit & it is believed that they may still receive Jesus before the resurrection & final judgment~ the art serves as a witness to these who are considered “lost souls”
