The lithography's technique

Lithography is a printing method that uses the chemical principle of the repulsion oil and water. The image made using greasy ink or crayon on the flat surface of a thin,  smooth stone.

The image is then covered with a solution made of gum Arabica and nitric acid. This process enables the stone pores to open while making them permeable to water. The next step is to clean the stone with turpentine and soak it with water which is absorbed everywhere exept on the greasy parts of the composition.

When printing oil-based printer's ink is rolled over the stone. The water soaked areas repelthe ink whereas the image accept it. Each print is made by placing paper on the stone and applying pressure. Re-inkin has to take place before the printing of each edition and before the stone dries. This technique can also be applied to lithographie paper or on a zinc plate (zincography).

After that all stones are destruct.
