Description
Lily Kelly Napangardi
SIMPLY GORGEOUS FLOWING MOVEMENT ~
GENTLE FLOWING WAVES OF SAND - THE BEST!
TITLE: Tali [sandhills]
PAINTED: 2009
IMAGE SIZE: approx 1000 x 810 mm [plus border for framing]
MEDIUM: Acrylic paint on quality pre-primed LINEN
THE PAINTING: Lily's amazing paintings of the Tali – or sandhills - of the Kintore and Coniston areas represent the gentle movements of the shifting desert sands caused by the seasonal winds. Painstakingly painting in white on a black primed background, Lily depicts her trademark genre with a wonderful sense of grace and movement that is almost 3D in its execution.
As a guide to its potential investment value, a larger Lily Kelly painting of this genre has fetched over $38,000 at auction so this striking piece undoubtedly represents outstanding value. Not to mention the aesthetic value and the fact it would attract admiring attention on any wall [hung either vertically or horizontally] that it happened to grace.
