VINTAGE 1950'S - LINEMAR WIND UP POPEYE - BASKETBALL

This is a great 1950's Linemar Popeye Basketball Player. 

The markings on the back of Popeye are Linemar Toys - Japan, Linemar Co-Inc., King Features Synd.

Popeye has a wooden pipe and is a wind up toy, (sorry no box).  When key wound, Popeye throws  a brightly colored basketball up and down into the hoop.  Unfortunately, Popeye needs a little hlep to get the ball started after being wound.  One touch of the basketball and he starts throwing the ball.  This may be the way it is meant to be.  The net appears to be in really good condition.  The wire for the basketball is straight.  There are no holes in hands, or anywhere else.

I don't know much about this toy, it has been in a display case since my Uncle passed away 30 years ago.  It appears to be in really nice condition with the colors still being bright and minimal scratches.  Will gladly send you additonal pictures if requested.
