My two year old daughter loves this and it keeps her attention for long periods of times and that is saying a lot trust me! Compare this set to others that are $40 for just the drums and 1 Castanet! Instead, you will receive an unbelievable Tone Block with Mallet, 2 Maracas, 2 Castanets, 1 Tambourine, 2 Wrist Bells, and a MARCHING DRUM with sticks!! We purchased this for our 2 year old girl. Although it is recommended for ages 4 and up we figured she had \been pounding on everything they she could get her hands on so we figured she would love it. The drum is very sturdy and makes a lot of noise :-) The shakers are very loud. Overall, the best choice out there, couldn't be happier.
 
As far as quality of the set, very high. All wood construction with vivid vibrant paint that will not chip. The instruments all feel strudy and robust and will undoubtedly last for years to come and will make perfect hand me downs! The audio quality is very tonal and LOUD! The quality of the music instruments are not like the cheap walmart import variety but closer to being educational quality!
