This print is from a rare portfolio of high quality gravure prints of California. This image depicts US Cavalry horsemen soldiers on a giant felled redwood tree. AMazingly, there are 14 white horses on the trunk, and at least 21 below.

Tons of detail in this print, and beautiful sepia tones. This would look wonderful framed for the redwood, california, military, or horse collector.

I couldn't get a definitive date on this, but it dates from 1905 to 1915, making it well over 90 years old (and possibly over 100). If you can date it better from landmarks, please let me know!

This incredibly beautiful photogravure is single-sided and on thick paper. The page measures approx. 8x10 inches (20.5 x 25.5 cm), and the actual image area is about 6x8 inches (15 x 20.5 cm). Beneath the image is a caption in English.

This is NOT a recent copy or modern reproduction, but a GENUINE item over 80 years old.
