Dr. Ping Qi Kang (O.M.D., L.Ac.) is an internationally acclaimed doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), acupuncture, and herbology. He was born into a family tradition of Chinese Medicine that stretches back to 300 years of Shanghai history. The Kang family has been famous for treating external injury, skin infections, bone and injuries and more.
Dr. Kang began studying medicine at the age of 10. At age 18 Dr. Kang entered school at Shanghai Medical University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). He spent a year in the ER and soon it was clear that in the various departments he worked his prescribed formulas consistently worked better than his peers'. As he rose to the top of each department specialty he was recognized as a Master of academics and in the clinic. This earned him promotion, at the age of 27, to Chief Medical Officer of the Department of TCM at Shanghai Hospital #1. The result was a broad practical experience based in both Western and Chinese acute care modalities.
Being rated the number one clinician in Shanghai later earned him an invitation in 1985 to teach and head the clinic at the newly accredited American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco, CA.
