This is an actual, not reproduction, photogravure engraving on paper printed in 1894. It shows the maid Joan of Arc receiving the sword with which she is to liberate France. The engraving is by Zoe-Laure de Chatillon; photogravure by Hanfstaeng. It is about 9 by 11 1/2 inches overall dimensions (23 by 29cm.); image is about 6 by 8 1/2 inches. It is printed on heavy stock with gilt edges, blank and the reverse and highly suitable for framing. The plate impression mark is very prominent on the paper. A guaranteed genuine antique print. This print is untrimmed and in great condition as shown. The scan you see is unretouched - what you see is the print you get. A great investment, this print is certain to appreciate in value over time.
