RED RIDING HOOD & WOLF Staffordshire Spill Vase c1850

This is the third of six listings of original Staffordshire figural spill holders, all discovered during the renovation of an old property in N.Essex. Have no doubts, that these are original 19th century figures and be sure to check my no quibble returns policy.

Although my knowledge of such figures is limited, I have taken the time to research each of them as well as possible and believe that there are one or two quite rare and early offerings amongst them.

This Red Riding Hood & The Wolf spill vase stands 10.5" tall and is 6" wide, probably one of the easier pieces to research, as it is well documented ( I.Harding p.318 fig 1164 made 1835-1875 ). Quite a large and impressive model but this wolf would frighten nobody ! Condition is good, with one flake of paint missing from the hood and our friendly wolf has lost the tip of one ear. Still displays beautifully and would make a great childrens nursery ornament.
