Today we are listing this remarkable mahogany formal dining room suite that dates from the 1940s. This set has been completely restored in our professional restoration shop, and is all ready to go into your home.
The nine Piece Dining Set consists of the following: a set of six desirable solid mahogany ribbon back chairs, with 5 side chairs and 1 arm chair, a double pedestal mahogany banquet table, a mahogany china closet, and an extra large mahogany sideboard. It is a fantastic set that has been all re-sprayed and re-stained and still maintains the characteristic age marks left in the old finish of this beautiful set.
The set features the following:
· The traditional Duncan Phyfe style;
· A luxurious dark rich red-brown colored finish;
· The sideboard measures 60 inches wide, 19 inches deep and 35 inches high. It has two drawers on top; the one on the left hand side is divided for silverware. The middle drawer and drawer on the outside edge are cleverly disguised as a single extra large drawer. There are four doors on the base with the two center doors being bowed out and picture frame molded. It features a high style cut out bracket base, carved columns, panel sides, picture frame molding, and a fancy cross bow carvings along the bottom of the drawers finishes off on gorgeous sideboard.
· The set of six highly sought ribbon back chairs have been re-tinted, re-glued, and reupholstered in a beautiful period style fabric. The side chairs are 20 inches wide, 18 inches deep, 35 inches high to the back, and 20 inches high to the seat. The armchair is 22 inches wide, 19 inches deep, 36 inches high to the back and 20 inches high to the seat.
· The beautiful dining room table comes with an 18 inch wide extension leaf. When the leaf is installed, the table is 80 inches long, 40 inches deep and 29.5 inches high. It has a round corner top with a recessed skirt that rests upon two large vase type urn triple leg pedestal bases. The bases have carved legs, multiple turns, and end in an antique style brass cap foot. The size of the table when the leaf is removed is 62 inches long.
· Last but not least is the gorgeous little china cabinet that has two glass doors with a mahogany grillwork on top. There is ribbon molding underneath the crown-molded top and there is a fancy molded dovetail drawer with two doors underneath. The china cabinet sits upon high style French footed base. The overall size is 36 inches wide, 16.5 inches deep and 71.5 inches high.
