(2) 2003A★ $5.00 Fed Reserve *STAR* Notes

We have here a pair of $5 FRN  **STAR**  notes.  Two  $5.00 Federal Reserve Star Notes of 2003A★ in Crisp GEM Uncirculated condition, a real addition to any small note collection.  Check out the photos.  You can enlarge the photos.  Each was signed by Secretary of the Treasury John Snow who resigned recently making these even rarer as no more will bear his signature.  The Treasurer is Anna Cabral.  Since Snow is gone this note had a very short print life having already been replaced by the 2006 series.  Star notes are only used to replace defective notes pulled in the printing process as replacements.  They are much harder to find than the regular notes from the series.  These may be the rarest of all $5.00 star notes issued in the last 20 years!  In recent years the Bureau of Engraving and Printing has only printed a small number of star notes as efficiency is improving and the need for star notes has been reduced.  So it still seems that finding a star 2003A $5 is a challenge, but here are two in perfect condition with sequential serial numbers.

Book value for the note is estimated at  $30 each in CU, but retailers and Shop at Home TV often charge much more than book value just because they are so hard to find.  The notes are free of holes, writing, ink, stains etc.   Both are a GEM perfect specimen of US Currency.  The 2003A note has the transitional design that predates the current colorized series.   This is a real find.  I have 10 of these to list in my store, plus this pair of notes going for auction, so you can buy one or all 10 in my store, in sequential serial numbers and in perfect condition.  These two are going together at this auction.  They start at 1 Cent with no reserve.
