                                                                        The Armored Carousel Horse

    The Armored Carousel Horse is a bisque porcelain re-creation from Charles Looff from Franklin Mint in the year of 1988. This Armored Carousel Horse   as one of the pictures shows and in bold hand painted initials,  1988 FM are on the underside of the horse's tummy.

   The light blue armor has painted jewels in lines, creating the armor protection look that was inspired by Charles Looff's children, who loved King Arthur's legends, when Looff created his original at Coney Island, NY. The dark blue saddle is trimmed in gold fine lines as is the gold feather nightingale on the horse's chest. On back of the saddle is an ax and yellow package held on by gold ties with dark blue trim. The armor on the hind quarters has gold also. The handsome saddle blanket is painted in gold, light blue, and jewels that enhances the the blue saddle and gold trim. As you can see from the pictures this particular horse was one of Looff's favorites on the carousels.

Fun Fact:  Sydney's Darling Harbour  Carousel in a  New South Wales Heritage  listed attraction. It is  an example of an old Edwardian Carousel which are very rare nowadays. It is operated by a classic steam motor which has been retained. The Carousel dates back to the 'Golden Age' of Carousels between the 1890s to the 1920s.
