excerpt on Mental Devolopment and Insanity of Children:

"In speaking of insane children.....: I refer to those who came into the world in health and continue to develope, both in mind and body,...who are called by parents "bright children", who, after the period of first dentition is completeed, learn rapidly and attract attention by unusual memory, and at from four to six years of age are able to read and converse .....beyond their years".......At this stage- from six to twelve years - they become melancholoy, stupid, vicious, or actively maniacal."

"Insanity in children is almost confined to the United States"........."and would undoubtedly be classed, along with general paresis, as an American disease by foreign writers."

"The environment of the infant in the United States is different from that in any other aprt of the world....., This arises largely from our form of government....."

 Excellent to Very Good condition for it's age.   Light foxing throughout.  Sturdy and strong spine.   All pages attached.  Corners  are slightly bumped.   Very nice Gilt lettering on spine.   Covers are in very good condition with normal shelf wear.
