Superman #170 - Tribute to President John F. Kennedy

Issue No. 170 of Superman, National Periodical Publications, 1964.

The issue features the story “Superman’s Mission for President Kennedy,” where Superman promotes the President’s physical fitness campaign.

This story, prepared in close cooperation with President Kennedy was originally scheduled to be published in the fall of 1963 in Superman #168, but with the news of his assassination the publishers pulled the story and substituted other material.

Months later, after being informed that President Johnson wanted it to be published as a tribute to this predecessor. This issue #170 was dedicated to President Kennedy’s memory. (See the ad from Superman 168 that tells the whole story.)

Great looking vintage issue in really nice shape. Still glossy cover with tight spine stress; shows little wear. All comics come bagged and boarded. No Reserve!
