This is a distinctive note.  This HARD TO FIND--LARGE SIZE NOTE is the 1914 $20.00 FEDERAL RESERVE NOTE in  FINE-12 condition, but you can judge for yourself to make the final decision with these photos.  You can enlarge the photos.  It has the signature combination of BURKE-HOUSTON.  It was issued years before the introduction of small size notes that we use today.   It was graded by PCGS at FINE-12.

The note is not very clean despite its age, and with 4 perfectly full corners, good color contrast with no tears, 1 pin hole and no missing pieces (see photos).   It shows signs of normal handling or use including folds and wrinkles and there is soiling and a small pink A left of the portrait.  The BLUE Seal is Large and on the right side. 

The art work on these classic old large notes was outstanding.  In this case on the reverse you can see two scenes, one with land transportation, a steam train and a pre-model T motor car which was the common method of getting around in 1914 and the other is water transportation, a ship and a tug boat.  The scenes represented the technology and wealth of America, which was backing this new Federal Reserve Note and not gold or silver.

Book value is $125 in FINE, $800 in CU, so place a bid and enjoy a bargain.   Some retailers and Shop at Home TV charge much more that book value for this note when they can find it.  This note does not come up for auction very often and it often sells for well over book value even on Ebay!  So if you need it to add something special to your currency collection this may be just the opportunity, don't let it slip by.
