1923 LARGE SIZE $1 NOTE 

This note is distinctively different from most Silver Certificates.  It is the 1923 $1.00 LARGE SILVER CERTIFICATE, in VERY GOOD-FINE condition in my opinion, but you can judge for yourself to make the final decision with the photos above, which you can enlarge.  It has the signature combination of SPEELMAN/WHITE.  It was issued only from 1923-1927, just before the introduction of small size notes that we use today.

The note is still firm and fairly clean, has all 4 full corners. It has good color contrast with no writing, ink, holes, or stains.  There are visible fold marks, many wrinkles, light soiling and one tiny edge tear along the top less than 1/8".   The edges are otherwise smooth and intact.  This is an attractive example of old paper money especially for a large size note which are often pretty worn out when they are found.  The Blue Seal is Large, on the left side and is striking. 

Book value is $40.00 in very good-fine condition, $175 in CU, so place a bid and enjoy a bargain.   Some retailers and Shop at Home TV charge much more that book value for this note when they can find it.  This note does not come up for auction very often and in Very Good condition often sells for well over $45 even on Ebay!  So if you need it to add something special to your silver certificate collection this may be your only opportunity, don't let it slip by.
