certainly 19th century, very possibly earlier, is this handmade wooden foot treadle for the small flax spinning wheel.  this treadle was used to propel the wheel and was mounted between back and 1 front leg. this one is wooden pinned with a trace of old red paint. hard wood with decorative cut out form to foot section. about 18 inches long, 10 3/4 inches wide. great condition but 1 end with iron pin was cut off at one time. about 1 1/2 inches missing. a fairly simple repair. see pics    POSTAGE HIGHER TO WESTERN STATES
