these 2 items are called maidens but have no idea how they were used. im pretty sure they were used on the small flax wheel. 19th century, possibly earlier. smallest is 4 1/2 x 6 inches, largest is 5 1/4 x 6 inches. both are hardwood with leather thongs still attached both are dirty but in solid undamaged condition..  see pics    POSTAGE HIGHER TO WESTERN STATES
