I test ALL cameras, ALL flashes, ALL lenses, etc. before they are wrapped for shipping. I am incredibly anal about how I prepare and pack my items for shipping and label all items with SEVERAL labels telling the way the item was rated in the listing , what is included, when it was produced, and other important notes and tips relevant to the item (e.g. warnings about leaving batteries in items, about how to clean items, etc). No one else does this and it takes time and costs extra money that most sellers are not willing to give up.
I pack better than the vast majority of ebay sellers and ONLY USE FRESH bubble wrap and other consumables. ALL lenses, flashes and cameras are bagged before being wrapped. All alkaline batteries are removed and bagged. I do not use shredded paper, newspaper, diapers, socks, plastic garbage bags, etc. (like most my competition) to protect your important items in shipping. My consumables costs are very high and they are reflected in my shipping costs.I wrap all bicycle frames with foam rubber tubing, using dozens of plastic wire ties. The front and rear ends are blocked to protect against collapse and then the whole frame is wrapped in large bubble wrap before being inserted into a customized, double-walled bike box that I pay for and that price and all consumables are included in the shipping fee, including insurance.
I only ship two ways: USPS First Class Mail (for the very small items), and USPS Priority Mail, for everything else. I have shipped over 18,000 packages via USPS and they are, BY FAR, the best, most reliable, and safest couriers for the domestic shipping of the items I sell. They pick up at my home 6 days a week but there are times they can not and I have to drive the packages to my local Post Office. All my packages get electronic/on-line labeling and those labels cost me for each one (the actual cost of the three part label plus the fee the on-line service charges me) plus every box gets at least on LARGE Fragile Sticker and all bubble envelopes get stamped Fragile in two places. The stickers, stamps and the ton of package tape I use to seal my packages all cost a lot (and the prices go up yearly). These costs are included in my shipping fees.
I ship next day after proper payment receipt/or payment clearing (which is far faster than most eBay sellers), and my services are typically 2-3 days for Priority Mail, or 3-4 days for First Class Mail. This is as good as you will find on eBay and far better than most online stores. All packages carry delivery confirmation numbers (that service costs extra for First Class packages) and those costs are included in the total shipping price. All packages with items worth over $250 carry Signature Confirmation numbers (an extra cost for any USPS package). These confirmation numbers are given to the buyer in an email sent from my online service within 24 hours from the time the label was generated. The confirmation number IS NOT a tracking number and will only show up when the item is delivered or there was an attempted delivery by the USPS. Like any business, when the USPS raises their rates, I will respond with raises in my rates.

We stand behind all our sales with a full refund policy, which INCLUDES return-shipping fees UNLESS NOTED AS NOT INCLUDED IN THE LISTING), if any of our items (excluding those sold as is with no returns) is found to be SIGNIFICANTLY DIFFERENT than what I have described. The item must be returned, with all parts, in the same condition as shipped by J.D.Katz, Inc., within 14 days of the buyer receiving the item.
The reason why we use the term significantly different (besides the fact that that is the term ebay and PayPal use to identify misrepresented items) is because ratings are based on opinions and while we may rate something as excellent, a buyer may feel it is only very good. So, to allow for this possible difference in opinion, an item must be significantly different to be covered by my return policy. We rarely sell items as is with no returns. This is because we trust our ability to sell accurately described items. The only items we list as as is/no returns will be listed as for parts or for repair items or have a defect that is clearly noted and the price of the item will be reduced so much that it must be sold as a no return item.
WE DO NOT ACCEPT RETURNS DUE TO A BUYER NOT READING THE LISTING DESCRIPTION, NOT UNDERSTANDING THE DESCRIPTION, OR DECIDING THE ITEM DOES NOT LOOK RIGHT WHEN USED WITH OTHER ITEMS, DOES NOT FIT RIGHT, OR DUE TO THE BUYER HOPING TO RECEIVE AN ITEM BETTER THAN DESCRIBED. BUYER'S REMORSE IS NOT AN ACCEPTED REASON FOR RETURNING AN AUCTION PURCHASE. WE ARE ACCOUNTABLE FOR ANY MISTAKE WE MAKE AND WE HOPE OUR CUSTOMERS WILL HAVE THE SAME LEVEL OF ACCOUNTABILITY.
