Up for bid these two rare comics from the 1950s just in time for Veterans Day. Both are in excellent shape except for some wear along the edge and bottom of the front cover of BATTLE. The
insides are all there and the covers have great eye appeal. The first one is BATTLE, issue No 9 from June of 1952, billed as Battle Adventures of Troops in Combat. Stories include "Ambush", "The Big Deal!" and "Fear". Story and artwork by Robert Q. Sale, Aizo(?), and Jerry Robinson. The second war comic is YOUNG MEN on the BATTLEFIELD, No. 12 from December of 1951. Stories are entitled
"Spearhead!", "Hill 96" and "The Traitor." The artwork/story by Joe McNeely and Al Eadett. Dating from the early 1950s, these comics have a decided Korean theme. I am
not a comic book
dealer. These were part of my mother's antique inventory. Neat, rare
additions to a comic book collection. Great vintage ads. |
