Broadway Is My Beat, a radio detective show, ran on the CBS network from 1949 to 1954. The show originated from New York City during its first three months on the air, then moved to Hollywood, starring Anthony Ross as the main character Detective Danny Clover.  The opening theme of "I'll Take Manhattan" introduced Detective Clover,  a hardened Big Apple cop who worked in the homicide bureau "from Times Square to Columbus Circle -- the gaudiest, the most violent, the lonesomest mile in the world". Danny Clover narrated the tales of the Great White Way to the accompaniment of music by Wilbur Hatch (who went on to direct the Desi Arnaz Orchestra on the television show "I Love Lucy") and Alexander Courage. Bill Anders was the show's announcer. Some of the guest stars included such radio and television personalities as Sheldon Leonard, Mary Jane Croft, Hy Averbeck, and Betty Lou Gerson.
