Up for bid is an HO scale brass B&O C-16a 0-4-0 "slope back" switcher locomotive.  It was made by Takara of Japan and was imported by International Models in 1954.  That makes it 55 years old.  The model was originally distributed as both a brass kit and assembled.  It is painted flat black with no weathering and some of the paint has worn in paces.  Comes with the original box (which is in fair to good condition) and the original assembly drawing. THIS IS A COLLECTORS ITEM FROM THE EARLY YEARS OF THE HOBBY.

I bought this model in 1988, and it has set in a glass enclosed display case for 99% of the time I have owned it, in a smoke free environment.  I have not test run the engine for this listing, so you should re-oil it before operating.  It will probably take a little work to tune this one up if you wish to run it, but as stated above, its a collector's item and should be placed on display.
