This is a First Edition, First Printing copy of the Signet 1001 novel The Catcher in the Rye by J.D.Salinger.
A soft cover book in very good condition.
Stated First Printing, March 1953.

The covers are bright and the book is square and tight in its binding.
No creasing to the front cover and only a tiny horizontal crease to the spine.
A light 4cm ( one and a half inch )diagonal crease near top of back cover.
Some edge wear to covers and a few tiny spots of colour loss along the spine.
Some paper loss at the head of the spine.
Light edge-wear at the base of the spine.
Some speckling on black border on both front and back covers ..looks like a production-fault.
Internally pages are tanned and there is a small water-mark on the inside front cover edge.
The first page has a small round circle with 1.40 stamped in it.This has been scored through with a pencil and then rubbed out,
leaving the original circle plus a small tear to the edge of the page and indentations from the pencil marks for the first four( double) pages.
The price-circle is 1.3cm ( approx half an inch ) across and the watermark is 3cm (just over 1 inch )in length.
All other pages are clean and all are solid in their binding.

A very nice collectible copy of an increasingly rare book
at a reasonable price.
