1887 DELINEATOR FASHION Magazine VICTORIAN Hat Dress

CONDITION:
The back cover is missing all but the lower 1/4th. The front cover has a bit of the bottom right corner missing, and some other edge wear. Cover is loose at the spine but still attached.
The inside pages are clean and firmly bound. They have some light edge wear, but no other damage. 
The page with animal drawings (see my photo), has been traced so that there are some "cuts" along the animal edges.

July, 1887... 122 years old!

GRAPHICS/ILLUSTRATIONS:
THERE ARE ABOUT 150 CLOTHING & FASHION ILLUSTRATIONS!
VERY nice! The clothing is illustrated with high quality engraving style images, which are nicely detailed. The magazine is liberally illustrated.. There are many fashions shown, including dresses, blouses, skirts, hats, sleeves, Misses, Men's and children's clothing. There are some other clothing related items shown too.

CONTENTS (PARTIAL):

This magazine was produced by Buttericks, which was a leading seller of sewing patterns. The magazine was really an advertising medium for the patterns... if the ladies fell in love with a "latest Paris fashion style", they would be more likely to buy the pattern and build the clothing themselves!
(Think of Gone With the Wind, and whats-her-name making that incredible dress from draperies!)

MANY OF THE ILLUSTRATED FASHIONS ARE DESCRIBED IN DETAIL!
Fabrics, accents, sleeves, laces, trims, buttons and more are described! 
Here is part of what is said about Figure 285 (pictured below my text):
"This consists of a Ladies basque and skirt. The beauty of this toilette is emphasized by the choice of fabrics, which are plain India silk and striped India silk showing the stripes of fine flowers and leaves in Watereau colorings.
The gores of the round skirt are of the striped material, but the breadth is of the plain silk, as are the draperies. The front drapery is disposed in soft, graceful wrinkles and irregular outlines, and is very simple. Plaits at the belt produce its upright wrinkles......"
This continues for another half a page or so... and MANY of the designs are described this way!
