This is a 1960 Mercury Comet 2 door sedan 3 in 1 Compact car customizing kit by AMT.  This is the Original Annual Issue model number 3060-139, and as far as I know this kit has not been reissued.  This kit was purchased by my father new, and was opened for inspection or daydreaming, then put away until these photos were taken.  This car is complete including the original decal sheet, and is as perfect as when it was boxed in 1960.  This car can be built in 3 versions: Stock, Custom, or Race.  We had high hopes of building these kits over the years, but we never got around to building them and at this point in time never will.  We are selling off a collection of promotional models and kits that took us over 30 years to complete.  If you are looking for a particular model, e-mail me at brhm57@comcast.net, maybe I can help.

PAYMENT: Due to recent changes in ebay rules, I can now only accept Paypal payments for auction items other than a real automobile.  These are the new rules that I need to follow.  Please do not pay until you receive an invoice from me.  I will send an invoice with shipping charges.  Once you receive the invoice, payment MUST be received in my Paypal account within 7 days. 

 

SHIPPING:  Domestic items are shipped via USPS Parcel Post or Priority Mail, both with insurance (Continental United States only.  International shipping will be quoted on an individual basis determined by country).  An invoice will be sent at the end of the auction with shipping charges based on your location.  I'm happy to combine shipping on multiple items at a discounted shipping rate. Please contact me for specific shipping charges.  I ship Parcel Post or Priority Mail with insurance on all items.  If another shipping method is preferred, please contact me before the end of the auction so we can discuss this.  Due to my work schedule, I’m usually only able to ship on Saturdays.  If any other shipping arrangements are required, please ask before bidding so there are no disappointments, I'll do my best to make it work.  My shipping costs are a fixed amount estimated using current USPS rates.  I use new boxes as often as possible, and package everything properly.  I have no intention of making money on shipping, but I’m not going to lose money either.  Please realize this when bidding so there are no problems or disappointments later. 

 

International Bidders: For items over $50.00, shipping must be either Priority Mail or Express Mail insured, as I've had nothing but problems with first class uninsured outside the continental United States.  Please e-mail me before bidding for a shipping quote, or go to USPS.COM, this item will ship from zip code 60482.  I will not ship items uninsured, this is for both of our protection.  Please check customs regulations in your country before bidding.  I am NOT responsible for bidders customs fees.  Also, please do not ask me to falsify any customs forms.  I will not even consider doing this, so please be aware of this before bidding.
