This standard set of 27 blocks includes 4 complete alphabets (2 in Braille), 3 sets of numerals, and 27 different animal pictures. These Braille abc basswood blocks are admired by teachers for the use of lower-case letters because the English written language uses many more lower-case letters than capital. The European style font makes this set attractive and easily traced by little fingers. A regular print letter is engraved on two sides of each block, which stands about an inch tall. In the left corner directly below each print letter is the Braille letter carved out and raised so it can be felt. Provides both sighted and visually impaired children or adults hours of building and spelling fun.

Features:
Embossing: What makes these blocks special are the two embossed letters on each block. The embossing process gives depth and detail to each block and appears to be carved. Actually these designs are pressed into the wood under immense pressure.
Beveled Edges: The manufacturer chamfers the upright edges of its blocks to eliminate sharp corners and make the blocks more comfortable to hold.
Non-Toxic Inks: The blocks are made from child-safe materials, especially non-toxic inks, which are tested regularly and always surpass national and international standards on ink safety. Very little ink is used on the blocks, so rest assured that a child will not be exposed to harmful substances even if they should consume an entire set of blocks. The same is true for your household pets who may even chew on the blocks.
Numerals: The ABC blocks also feature numerals 0 to 9 and math symbols (+ - X, etc.). As children begin to recognize letters they will also learn their numbers. Later on they may use the blocks to form equations just as they are spelling words.
Numeral Names: The name of each numeral is printed beneath the number so that a child can learn how to spell these words.

We are a registered corporation operating within the State of Illinois and are required by law to collect sales tax for orders being shipped within Illinois. The sales tax rate used is the current City of Chicago rate.

Shipping Information

We ship most orders within three business days. If there is a delay in shipping we will notify you by email so you can plan accordingly.
US Domestic Shipping
All US Domestic orders are shipped free of charge via US Standard Shipping. US Standard shipping takes 2 to 3 weeks for delivery and is normally sent through either USPS Media Mail or USPS First Class Mail. For quicker delivery, please choose US Expedited shipping.
Shipping Methods
We offer two shipping methods to make shipping simple and easy. Standard shipping is sent through the US Post Office using either First Class Mail or Media Mail. In some cases we may also choose to ship using Federal Express Ground or United Parcel Service Ground. Delivery time is expected within 2 to 3 weeks from the date of your order.
Expedited shipping is sent through the US Post Office Priority Mail service, United Parcel Service Ground, or Federal Express Ground. Delivery time is expected within 3 to 5 business days from the date of your order.
Please note, that the shipping times are only estimates and there may be delays out of our control caused by the third party shipping company.
International Shipping
We ship to most international locations. However, we regret that we are unable to accept and ship orders to some countries. We use calculated costs for determining International shipping.
There are two shipping methods available for International orders. Standard shipping is sent via the United States Post Office First Class Mail service and Expedited shipping is sent via the United States Post Office Priority Mail service.
Prices quoted for shipping only reflects the cost of shipping and does not include any additional taxes or duties that your country may levy upon delivery. You are responsible for those costs and we suggest contacting your local customs agency for more information. We complete all necessary customs forms providing accurate information. This includes marking the item(s) as merchandise and including the price paid for the merchandise. We are unable to mark shipments as "gift" or declare the cost different from the amount paid.

Tracking Numbers
We provide shipment tracking numbers or delivery confirmation numbers for most orders. Information contained and displayed by the Post Office depends on when and if the shipment gets scanned. Most shipments are scanned at delivery to provide proof of delivery for your order.
International customers please note, that tracking is available only through the Expedited shipping method and if tracking is necessary please select that method for shipping.
Backorder Dates
For those items on your order that can't ship immediately, we'll keep you informed of expected backorder shipping dates so you can plan accordingly. You will receive periodic emails informing you of the status of backordered items and when the items ship, we will automatically notify you by email.

We will make arrangements with the shipping carrier to pick up the item and packaging materials if needed, so please be sure to keep the items with the original packaging materials.
