Progressive metal outfit Fair To Midland make their full-length debut with FABLES FROM A MAYFLY: WHAT I TELL YOU THREE TIMES IS TRUE, a loosely connected concept album held together by the Texas quintet's mixture of heavy stoner rock, tricky time signature changes and technically advanced riffs. Mixing delicate interludes like the spacy, Pink Floyd-esque "The Wife, the Kids and the White Picket Fence" with full-on prog-metal dazzlers such as the first single "Dance of the Manatee," this is a complex, richly rewarding slab of dense heady metal.
