Class E91 Electric Locomotive

Prototype: Class E 91, Built by Krauss and Company in Munich, first delivered to the Bavarian RR in 1926. After the cabs where modernized in the 1950's they ran in traffic until 1975 when the last E 91 was taken out of traffic at the Munich Ost Station. The prototype of this model was the EG589 which was delivered in 1925 to Hirschberg.  In 1933, it was transferred to Ulm as E 9189. It was finally taken out of service in 1972.

Model: The Marklin 5516 was made only in 1989 as a special edition with ability to operate on both AC & DC Voltage using the Marklin Digital System.

• Body and frame are primarily diecast metal
• The diaphragms between the three units are genuine leather.
  
• Two motors receive current from either a cantenary or from the rails and powers all of the axles through driving and coupling rods.
  
• The double headlights change over with the direction of travel.
  
• Display is made out of dark Hardwood and stainless steel rails.
  

It will run on #1 Gauge or G gauge track.
