Shipping/Handling Policies

Why do we use flat-rate vs. calculated shipping charges?

We use flat-rate shipping charges for two reasons: 1.) flat-rate estimates allow us to make our items available to you more quickly and ship them to you more quickly, and 2.) flat-rate is the only method by which we can offer you our simple 50% off combined shipping discount.

How accurate are our flat-rate estimates?

They’re not 100% accurate, of course; if they were they wouldn’t be estimates.  The accuracy is affected by multiple variables that factor into shipping costs, such as your location.  However, we are constantly improving our estimates and our goal is to maintain a constant 10% margin of error (i.e. if your item costs an estimated $4.99 to ship, the actual cost may be about fifty cents more or less).  Keep in mind that this means you are just as likely to be undercharged as overcharged.  It’s also worth noting that even the calculated shipping charges other ebay sellers use are still not 100% accurate.

In certain cases, especially when shipping internationally, we issue refunds for overestimating our shipping charges.  Of course, if you feel that you were overcharged please be sure to contact us before assuming that the error was intentional and before leaving your feedback.

How much do we charge for “handling”?

It varies from item to item, but we factor in the cost of the bubble envelopes or boxes and packing material such as bubble wrap or packing peanuts we use to ship your item, in addition to a small share in the costs of printing material necessary for the labels.  Finally, because we personally hand your packages to our local post office, we include a very small part of the fuel costs we incur in driving there.  Overall, the “handling” portion of the flat-rate charge is almost always less than 20% of the total charge (i.e. if your item costs an estimated $4.99 to ship, the “handling” portion is less than $1.00). 

Return Policy

What if your item arrives broken/damaged?

Over 90% of our items are brand new so we rarely encounter an issue, but as with any online purchase there is always a risk of damage during shipment.  This is why we STRONGLY encourage all our buyers to purchase shipping insurance.

In the unlikely event that your item is lost/damaged during shipment, the best option is to file a claim with the postal carrier so that you will be reimbursed for the total cost of your item (even the shipping!).  However, anytime an item arrives to you in a condition other than as it was described in the listing, you may send it back for a refund of the original cost.  We do not offer refunds for shipping charges.

Feedback Policy

When will we leave feedback?

Since the transaction isn’t technically done until you receive your purchase, we leave feedback as soon as your item arrives; therefore, once you’ve received your item please let us know, and your feedback will follow shortly.

How does your feedback effect It’s a Small World of Disney, and also you in return?

There are two main ways your feedback effects our store; 1.) obviously, we want to know whether or not you were pleased with your experience so we can keep up the good work or make changes accordingly, and 2.) because ebay bases several of our perks on feedback, your positive feedback helps keep our prices low by directly effecting our store’s standings in search results, earning us discounts on our ebay fees, and maintaining our status as a PowerSeller.
