1947 Chicago Bears Schedule Poster Original - Unrestored

Fresh off the heals of the 1946 Chicago Bears season; their 27th regular season and 9th postseason completed in the National Football League. The club posted an 8-2-1 record under head coach George Halas making his return from World War II en route to a Western Division title and an appearance in the NFL Championship Game. In the title game, the Bears defeated the New York Giants for their seventh league title and their fourth of the decade.

All documented by this scarce 1947 Bears Schedule Poster. The crown wearing Cub is as much a reminder of the ties the Chicago Cubs and Bear had in common, each playing their games in the freindly confines.

Early Bears schedule posters had promoted players and their college affiliations. This Bears changed in the mid-40's to a comical if somewhat fierce "Cub" to attract attention to their schedule. This marked the last year the "Cubs" would be utilized to market the Bears. Future posters depicted a more fierce reporesentation of the Bears.

All documented by this C quality Schedule poster - Three (3) Sheet in size about 92" x 41" Unrestored. Has some wear and fold marks, light staining, and edge wear. Still a very solid restorable item that will frame and display quite nicely.
