Navajo Native American Indian Rug Blanket Textile weave

This is a fine example of a CHINLE NAVAJO DOUBLE SADDLE BLANKET FROM THE 1935 RANGE and it is in Good/Fair condition for age! An interesting looking blanket utilizing a repeating geometric cross and banded pattern for the theme. This blanket is made from expertly hand spun, hand carded and hand dyed wools! All the colors (blue and pink) are natural vegetal dyes as is typically used with Chinle weavers. The colors are blue, pink, cream/beige and white.

This is a good example of a Classic Utilitarian, yet fancy Navajo Double Saddle Blanket, and she is ready to display as is in your home, cabin, shack...or castle!

The size of this blanket is approximately 61" X 31", with a warp of 10 and a weft of about 28, the warp and weft yarns are tightly spun and woven and 100% wool.

SELVAGE: The Side Selvage Cords are 99% intact, a twist of two fine, 1-ply pink wool yarns. The End Selvage Cords are 100% intact/present, a braid of two, 2-ply pink wool yarns.

NO Bleeding of dyes. There are about 5 small holes (see last pic. for most obvious ones), a few light stains, and a fade line in center of blanket on one side (the B-Side - see the last pics). The four corner ties (see last pic.) are still present (see pic. of 4 corners), and the actual corners are in good condition. Overall a displayable blanket, with a few holes and some fading/light staining on one side, otherwise in good condition.

No odors, clean and ready to display.

Rug has MANY Lazy Lines. The age range of this blanket is 1930-1940.
