An explosive mixture of lightning and laboratory chemicals endowed police scientist Barry Allen with superhuman speed, transforming him into the "Silver Age" Flash, the Fastest Man Alive. The Scarlet Speedster was first set into motion in Showcase #4 (September/October 1956). (Editor's note: the Silver Age of Comics, from the mid-1950s to the early 1970s, reflected a period of artistic advancement and commercial success in mainstream comic books.)

U.S.POST OFFICE Celebrates DC COMICS SUPERHEROES in 2006 with their very own stamps and these truly awesome print composites. This auction is for one of these hard to find collectibles celebrating FLASH.

The composite consists of a superheros stamp, on a first day cover with a specially designed Superheroes envelope. (The envelope is printed with the picture of the full sheet of all the Superheroes stamps in this series.) The stamp and envelope are post marked from San Diego, CA on July 20, 2006- the first day the stamps were released.
In addition this composite includes a FLASH print beautifully matted and ready to frame - white on black with the envelope. Print measure 12" x 16". These were a special issue original released for the 2006 San Diego Comic Con
Print composite is in near mint to mint condition and is new in factory sealed bag.
