Offered is a Large-Sized 1916 10 Shillings note from "The Standard Bank of South Africa Limited".  This is Pick Special Editions Catalogue reference #351 (10th edition) which lists the note as Rare and Unpriced.  An intriguing additional aspect to this note is the fact that after examining the faded last two digits of the date (just above the serial # at the bottom right) with a high powered magnifying glass I am nearly 100% convinced this is a 1st Dec 1916 date versus the 1917-20 date listed in PICK, which would mean this is an earlier discovery date of an already extremely rare issue.

The note is in superb Original shape considering its rarity. It grades a Nice Fine.  A couple of trivial margin nicks and no tears otherwise.  A gorgeous note with undeniable eye appeal.
