Beautiful and very unique two sided cabinet kitchen/dinning room cupboard. This cupboard was salvaged from a 1850's Wisconsin farm house although I don't believe it's that old, I believe this is turn of the century piece. This was a built in cabinet. Front of cabinet offers three glass doors on top half and four drawers on bottom. the back side offers three doors on top half, two doors with shelf and flour bin on lower half. This would be great between two rooms or against a wall.

 This cabinet offers beautiful rosemauling. The cabinet has been painted (at least fifty years ago) since the rosemauling was applied on cabinet, but the were sure to carefully paint around the beautiful design. Artists who specialized in rosemauling came from poorer classes in the countryside, rather than the land owners. They would travel from county to county painting churches and/or the homes of the wealthy for a commission of either money or merely room and board. Thus rosemauling was carried over the mountains and toward Norway's western coast. Once farther away from the influence of these artists tried new ideas and motifs. Rosemauling became widespread as amateur artists in rural areas often imitated this folk art.
