THE CASINOS - 45 RPM RECORD "THEN YOU CAN TELL ME GOODBYE" backed with "I STILL LOVE YOU" COLLECTABLES RECORDS - ca. 1980 CATALOG # 1179 - REISSUE
The Casinos were a nine-member doo-wop group from Cincinnati, Ohio, led by Gene Hughes. They are best-known for their John Loudermilk written song "Then You Can Tell Me Goodbye," which hit #6 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1967, well after the end of the doo-wop era. The group was based around Hughes and his brothers Glenn and Norman, and they signed a deal with Fraternity Records. "Then You Can Tell Me Goodbye" was their first single, and its vocal harmony and organ interlude would not have been out of place in a Top Ten hit from ten or fifteen years earlier. Collectables Records is a reissue record label founded in 1980 by Jerry Greene. Greene was previously associated with New York City's Times Square Record Shop, Philadelphia's Record Museum retail chain, and the Lost Nite and Crimson record labels. (Only because it has probably been played - maybe once!) It has NO IMPERFECTIONS that we can see. This vinyl is BRIGHT, SHINY and looks like it was pressed YESTERDAY. NOTE: The SUPER CLOSE UP shots are SCANNED PICS to demonstrate the label; they are NOT a good representation of the vinyl (See regular pics for vinyl condition). We attempt to grade these with the usual accepted standards for record sales (Goldmine Magazine), but are not experts. This 45 is a part of a very large collection that we obtained that was well cared for. SHIPPING Shipping to the Continental U.S. is $3.00 for the first 45 RPM Record, and $1.00 more each for any additional 45's purchased within a reasonable time frame. International Shipping is $6.50 for the first 45 RPM Record, and $1.50 for any additional 45's purchased within a reasonable time frame.
