~Antique German Burgundy Velvet Bound Catechism Book, NR~

This is for an antique German book. Not sure exactly what it is as I don't read German. Might be a catechism book. Has pictures of Jesus and Mary in it. On the front flyleaf is a gift inscription. Dated 1856 and is 1.25" x 2" x 4.25" in size. Has brass accents including a fancy piece on the front. Beautiful little book.

Book is in fairly good used shape. The nice thing is that the velvet appears to still be in good shape. It is a dark burgundy. My flash washed the color out a bit. The spine is alittle messed up but I think that just the velvet has seperated at the fold. The binding itself is good and tight. No other writing the the front flyleaf. Appears to be complete and intact. The brass clasp is missing. Please see pictures below.
