All original walnut Victorian Renaissance Revival marble top half commode stenciled Thomas Brooks Brooklyn. Known for his fine workmanship and beautifully figured woods, take a close look at the pictures to see his construction techniques. Picture 2 of the top with marble removed shows the dowl pins in each corner. Even the rear of the drawer is dovetailed. All four sides are paneled and finished. The four cut corners have raised panels. The interior has the original shelf with cutout for bowl. Even the inside of the door is beautifully finished. This piece is all original, there are no missing or replaced trim pieces or added or removed pulls. The origianl feet are attached with square nails and the brass castors. The marble top is stain free and very bright white with only minor wear surface scratches. One picture shows the underside of the marble. The finish is original but does have wear and spots as shown in the pictures. There is a crack in the left side top panel shown in the picture. This is a great piece because it hasn't been ruined by refinishing or "cleaning" or modifying. The locks on both the door and the drawer work with a key not pictured.
