HP Pavilion dv8000 Laptop - loaded for PARTS or REPAIR

This is a used HP Pavlilion dv8000 laptop. Was working perfectly one day, and the next day it won't boot or POST. Tried different battery, power cord, pulling and replacing drives and memeory, but still will not boot. Power light comes on but drives don't spin and display stays black and does not post. The HD activity LED does not flash, so I believe it to be a bad system board. I read that HP had a recall for the model after this for bad system boards but when I called them they said my unit missed the production dates and did not qualify. Don't know if that was the issue, but don't have the money or time to try and chase down the problem. The unit is being sold with all components which all worked prior to boot issue and should all be good now. 17" display was perfect with no defects, two 1GB Crucial DIMMs, two 80GB Fujitsu hard drives, original battery, power cord, DVD-RW drive. Again, I believe all components to be in good working order, but I cannot verify since it won't boot up.
