MERRY VINTAGE CHRISTMAS! THIS PRETTY LITTLE TREE STANDS 11 INCHES HIGH. THE BASE IS SEPARATE  FROM THE TREE. IT CAN BE GLUED TOGETHER (there is some evidence it was glued at one time), BUT I WILL LEAVE THAT TO THE BUYER'S PREFERENCE.  THE TREE FITS OVER THE LIGHT AND DOES NOT NEED TO GE ATTACHED, BUT WOULD BE SAFER GLUED, I THINK (I have cats.); ALTHOUGH, THE CERAMIC IS PRETTY HEAVY DUTY. THE LIGHT IS ELECTRICAL WITH A CORD RUNNING THROUGH A HOLE IN THE BASE. A SINGLE CHRISTMAS TREE BULB LIGHTS THE TREE FROM THE INSIDE. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE ASK. THANKS FOR LOOKING! (The prong on the light plug says Academy Automatic man. USA, if that helps anyone date the tree.)
