Peter Moore Midget SideShow Circus Freak Photo

Just found a few more of these 5" x 7" Circus Freak and Sideshow Photographs that I bought about 20 years ago at an antiques shop in West Virginia. Most of these photos have stapled to them an index card with a typewritten caption. There is also usually a four digit number on the reverse, written with pencil. At the time of my purchase, the proprietor told me that he got the photos from an actor who starred in the movie "Freaks". Supposedly, this actor occasionally came out of the mountains to raise some cash by selling off his memorabilia. Though the photographs were taken earlier (often considerably earlier), the Kodak photo paper dates from the 60's.

The particular photo in this auction has the caption: "Peter Moore, misshappen midget. He sits but 16" tall and weighs 32 lbs. He has 4 brothers and four sisters, all being of normal size." There is a screen pattern evident, so the photo may have been prepared for print.

Nice sharp image. Condition is very good with slight scuffs, some corner staple holes and bumped corners. Penciled on back is "0833".
