This is a GREAT alternative to a traditional white light LED flashlight. There
are 21 hi-intensity blue LEDs that cast a very distinctive cone of light with a
very good range. It also has a number of useful applications: the blue light is
not visible to night vision systems and, though not operating in the Ultra
Violet spectrum, at 455nM it is very effective in revealing the presence of
body fluids on carpets, upholstery, clothing etc. The size of the light allows
it to fit comfortably in the hand and its crenalated end-cap helps keep it from
rolling around when placed on a flat surface. Made of anodized aluminum, it’s
center section has a cross-hatched diamond pattern that gives it a nice tactile
feel and makes for a good grip. The on/off switch is on the end cap and it uses
3 readily available AAA batteries. It’s priced right and makes a great gift
anytime of the year.
