This book represents Chatterton's effort to collect, before it is too late, the finest authentic models of sailing craft that are not merely beautiful in themselves but may be regarded as providing a pictorial representation of the ship's development until the age of steam. Large 4to in brown buckram, top edges gilt, boards beveled, titles and design gilt-stamped on front board, 53 pages of text followed by 141 plates (8 tinted and tipped in), boards lightly scuffed, corners lightly frayed, front hinge just starting but binding is still tight, contents clean with no marks or foxing, a very nice copy of quite a special modeling book, overall Good Plus considering age and weight of coated stock. No dust wrapper. Includes an index. Book weighs 5 pounds
