United Model HON3 gauge 4-6-0 Engine with Coal Tender

Used vintage HON3 scale brass United Scale Model steam engine with coal tender. I’m not sure what type of engine this is, but the United Model logo is on the bottom. Looks similar to K-28 shown in United Model Catalogue. Wheels are in 4-6-0 configuration. Needs a paint touch up in a few spots where brass is showing. Roof of cab is slightly bent on engineer’s side. Most likely can be straightened.

Was unused in storage for several years.

The coal tender has the motor and drives the engine with a flexible shaft. The rear truck on the tender can spin around, but only one side of wheels carries electricity. So make sure the tender’s rear truck is at the right polarity or else you will short out your rail circuit! Engine will not move when tender’s rear truck is backwards!
