Metaphorically speaking, the Who’s Who books when it comes to the American Saddlebred are the Nihil Obstat…and Imprimatur..

Christmas is just around the corner and this would make a great gift for the horse lover on your list....

These are the greatest books ever published and so hard to find.

You’re in luck because I have a total of 7 for sale this week.  Check it out Volumes 1, 5, 6, 7, 8, 11, and 16.

UP FOR AUCTION:

WHO’S WHO IN HORSEDOM by the late J.H. RANSOM –

VOLUME VII  – 1954

A volume dedicated to the Generous and Devoted Sponsors of:

                     THE SPORT OF KINGS

This is a VINTAGE “MUST HAVE” for any Saddlebred enthusiast.  526 Pages For being “55 years old it’s in PRESTINE CONDITION.  No marks or tears,  binding is tight.  This one must have been kept under glass.  There were just too many great pictures so I didn't include a picture of the cover.

You’re in luck because I have a total of 7 for sale this week.  Check it out Volumes  1,5,6,7,8,11 and 16.

There were a total of 17 Volumes of WHO’S WHO IN HORSEDOM.  Don’t miss out –

It’s dedicated to:

Mrs. G.M. LIVINGSTON, MISTRESS OF DIXIE  PLANTATION IN QUITMAN, GEORGIA.  She has champion Walking Horses….

GEORGE FORD MORRIS, HIS PAINTING OF Emerald Chief.

Neat Story about  jockey Willie Shoemaker: “.. 380 winners, Statisticians busied themselves with the overall jockey performance picture and arrived at Willie’s grand average for 1954, a sensational .30.  … failed to turn up a jockey anywhere in the turf’s history, in America or elsewhere, who has averaged a high a percentage.  So far there have been only two to cop the title 3 times…”

Neat history on Robert McCray, “.. trainer for Minton Hickory for 31 years (a record for Saddle Horse Men..  First World Championship in 1923 riding Mass of Gold… Bob and Miss Nola have sold many great stallions: American Born, Sensation Rex, Beau Fortune, Beau Gallant, Nawbeek’s Highland King, Gallant Knight, Green Valley Fox, Anacacho Denmark, Evening Cloud…”

The Saddle Horse sections always have the first page     Memories of a Railbird by Jim Ransom… and story of the Illinois State Fair revive nostalgic memories.  My thanks are extended to Reed Bridgford and Ralph Peak for the photographs of old timers in these sections….”

The Thoroughbred Section is fabulous.  Historical coverage of all the big farms:  The King Ranch, Almahurst, Crown Crest Farms, Hasty House Farm, Windfield’s Farm,
