    Neat Story about  jockey Willie Shoemaker: “.. 380 winners, Statisticians busied themselves with the overall jockey performance picture and arrived at Willie’s grand average for 1954, a sensational .30.  … failed to turn up a jockey anywhere in the turf’s history, in America or elsewhere, who has averaged a high a percentage.  So far there have been only two to cop the title 3 times…”

I bought about a thousand old magazines from a professional trainer back home.  My little sister brought them from Missouri to Texas last week.  It completely filled the bed of her F-350.  I’ll fill all the holes I have in my personal collection and sell the others.  From the 40’s to the 90’s, Nat’l Horseman, Saddle & Bridle, Horse World and the American Saddlebred.
