4-COLOR PAINTED Early American SLIDE-TOP BOX noRESERVE

All original 19th century painted pine slide-top trinket box, with pinstripe decoration in gold, black, and green, on red-brown background color.

Victorial period, middle to late 1800's. Found at a New Hampshire estate sale. 4 1/4 inches, square, and 1 3/4 inches high.

Some wear and minor scratches, and one side panel has a small chip to the top right corner, visible in the first photo, just under the sliding lid. Paint on the lid is a little darker than on the sides, from years of exposure to household dust, and might benefit from a gentle cleaning.

Otherwise in very nice condition, tight and completely original, with the lid sliding smoothly, and with a very fine allover crackle to the dry old painted surface.
