Unused photo postcard with matte finish with "High School, National City, Cal.  F. S. ALLEN, ARCHITECT, PASADENA, CAL." printed in red ink at top left on front of view of building.   Back has "illustration and "PRIVATE MAILING CARD" in fancy font at top left and an incomplete postmark with date of 1908.  Condition is good, corners only moderately worn.  Check out our other auctions.  Will combine your other winning bids with this shipment.  Additional scans on request.

(1)  "Built in 1882 near the present site of Central Elementary School at 9th Street and E Avenue, National School was the South Bay's first high school. National's successor, National City High School, was built in 1908 around that same location, where Central Elementary School now stands. To accommodate the growing population of high school students, Sweetwater Union High School was built in 1921 at 2900 Highland Avenue."  [Wikipedia]

He also designed schools in San Diego, Santa Barbara, San Pedro, and Duarte, CA.  F.S.
