Welcome! Please keep in mind as you bid that 6% sales tax will be added to all items picked up at my location. This includes buyers that drive in from out of state. This is a John Deere 300 garden tractor, I believe from the mid 70's. It runs, drives and mows. The engine runs pretty good, but doesn't idle very well. It smokes pretty bad for about 20 seconds when you first start it when it's cold, and then it clears up and doesn't smoke. It seems like it may be building pressure in the engine because a few times the dipstick popped out, and one time oil came out the dip stick.I put a little bungi on the dip stick to make sure it doesn't pop out.I'm not sure what might be wrong with it. The hydro works good. The battery is not the greatest. I believe it is considered by John Deere to be a 48" deck according to the numbers. The steering wheel is cracked and held together with 2 clamps. I put a new mower belt on it and noticed that the one idler pulley on the mule drive could be replaced. The deck is somewhat noisy and could use new bearings. There is a crack on the left side and a bend in the front behind the roller. I noticed a few of the bolts on the frame are the wrong size. The seat is not torn but the padding is coming out the bottom of it. The mower pulley rubs the one hose when the deck is the whole way up. One headlight works, and one tail light works. Thanks for looking and have a great day! |
